I am new to ubuntu and zimbra mail server. In our client, for mailing purpose, zimbra 8.0.9 is using. This Zimbra server is configured on Ubuntu server 14.
We are facing an issue some times.
from the same domain user, spam is generating.
is it required to to configure Outgoing SMTP authentication or how can we do here to stop spam mail with in the domain or for outside our domain.

Hi Irslan, Sorry for late reply. As i understand you query regarding fake mail. We have Zimbra wiki for this solutions. If you apply this wiki in your production server, even after compromising user password , spammer can not change the from address(email address)while sending email because you already enforced from and user id. Only he can send mail from authenticated user .
Which mail service you are using? Zimbra Mailserver create a new logs file everyday and we do not set maillog limit in server it depends that how much mails and its log generate in server.
Hi I am using Zimbra 8.8.12 email server on cents OS. I am facing issue is sometimes when sender is sending emails from outlook (POP3), emails are showing in outlook send items but receiver is not receiving the same & also not received any bounce back .This issue facing only same domain.
Also I try unclicked “Automatically delete duplicate copies of the same message when received” this option that time email are received properly. But I cannot unclicked this option because duplicate email lot of received. Can you please help this issue..

Hi, Please follow below given link to restrict fake mail for same domain from outside. And also enable SPF record in your Public DNS.

DeleteHi, You can backup of your logs file using rsync or scp command and keep the backup in your backup drive.

rsync -avz /var/log/zimbra.log-* path_of_your_destination

Please check zimbra.log file, in which you will get proper details of email delivery failure and if possible share us logs here.
